    The Owners and Managers Association, a division of the Joliet City Center Partnership has chosen Gallery – 7 to receive an award recognizing “Outstanding property improvement and adding to the positive atmosphere in downtown Joliet.”            
     Thomas J. Mahalik, Vice President for City Center Marketing, said “Over the course of the last few years, Gallery – 7 has turned a dark, dirty, less than ideal storage space into a beautiful art gallery that anyone would be proud to visit.”

  • 3/28/11  Sidewalking 
    Local gallery to feature new exhibit.

    A collection of  photographs by William Petrovic will be on display from    1 April to 13 May at The Ainsworth-Gallery 721 Taylor Street in Joliet.  There will be an opening reception for the artist on 2 April from 7:00 to 9:00pm.  This one man show will be Petrovic’s second professional exhibit.

    "Open Lens II" 

    Calling All Photographers!

    Weekend photographers or professionals, youngsters or seniors, digital or film, black and white or color; all are invited to enter "Open Lens II", the second annual juried fine art photography exhibit hosted by Gallery 7, 116 North Chicago Street,  in downtown Joliet.  The show will run June 1-July 15, 2011.  A call for entries is happening now through April 15.  So, sort through your thumbnails, slides, or negatives, choose your best images, and format those jpegs.

    The Italian Portfolio: Evidence of Hands on Stone

    Compelling quiet reverence for the visual splendor which is the architectural landscape of Italy, becomes the gift we are allowed to experience through Jeff Curto's comprehensive black and white photographic portfolio.  The exhibit of Curto's work at Gallery 7, 116 N. Chicago St. in downtown Joliet, will run March 23 through April 28 with an opening reception for the artist on Saturday, March 26 from 6-9pm.  Both the exhibit and opening reception are free to the public.
